Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Karşıyaka Municipality have established an exemplary collaboration to support the development of preschool-age children, families, and educators. 

Paramedic Program students actively supported the 3 December 2025 drill with process monitoring and realistic casualty simulations, contributing significantly to the exercise.

The opening lecture event of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Vocational School of Health Services took place with the participation of many academics from the university and more than 250 students. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) offers students studying in the two-year associate degree program the opportunity to graduate with a double diploma by simultaneously studying in another department of their interest.

Melahat Kızıl, Lecturer at Paramedic Program, Vocational School of Health Services, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), gave advice on what to do before and during the earthquake.

Nursun Üstünkarlı, Lecturer at Paramedic Program, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), warned citizens that masks, which are vital in the fight against coronavirus, can be sold by some street vendors at low prices without paying attention to hygiene and quality. Üstünkarlı said, “The protection of every mask sold is not the same. Pharmacies and medical drug stores may be preferred for purchasing masks. Fabric masks that are inspected and sold by secure channels can also be used.”

Increased use of disinfectants in daily life with the Covid - 19 outbreak reduces the wearing time of glasses and eyeglass lenses. Hasan Durmuş, Lecturer at Opticianry Program, Vocational School of Health Services, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), said that the use of disinfectants has increased with the pandemic period and that wiping the frames and eyeglass lenses with these products damages the glasses.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE), the first foundation university of the Aegean Region, and Medical Park Izmir Hospital, the largest private healthcare institution in the region, joined forces with the goal of raising qualified physicians and healthcare workers needed by our country. Thanks to the cooperation that will ensure the development of Izmir and the realization of many special projects in the field of health, 333 students studying at IUE will have the opportunity to receive their practical education in the hospital environment starting from next year. Physicians working in the hospital will also be able to continue their academic careers by making use of all the facilities of the University.
