VOCATIONAL SCHOOL OF HEALTH SERVICES
Department of Child DevelopmentABOUT US
Child Development Program commenced education in 2015. Since its establishment, the program has graduated 235 students, and currently 55 students continue their education.
Children in the preschool period differ in their thinking and problem-solving abilities, as well as in their psychomotor, emotional, cognitive, and social developmental characteristics. By recognizing that every child is unique and supporting their individual learning processes, high-quality education can be achieved. Children need educators who show them affection, recognize and meet their needs, and foster their healthy development.
The aim of the Child Development Program is to educate qualified child development professionals who are equipped with up-to-date theoretical scientific knowledge and professional practical skills; who can readily adapt to rapidly evolving scientific, technological, and social developments; who understand the importance of lifelong learning and continuous self-improvement; who possess strong problem-solving abilities; who can communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues; who work collaboratively with a strong sense of teamwork while recognizing their responsibilities within the team; who are sensitive to environmental issues and public health; who uphold contemporary ethical values; and who guide children's learning and support their development into responsible and well-rounded individuals in accordance with the requirements of the profession.
In addition to comprehensive theoretical instruction, our Child Development Program also includes practical training that enables students to interact directly with children and gain hands-on experience by applying the knowledge and skills they acquire throughout their education.
Graduates who successfully complete the Child Development Program are awarded an associate degree diploma and may pursue careers in preschool education institutions, special education institutions, and pediatric clinics.
Graduates of the Child Development Program may also continue their education toward a bachelor's degree through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Eligible undergraduate programs include Child Development, Preschool Education, Special Education Teaching, Health Management, and Social Work.
"Children are the guarantee of our future and our joy of life. Raising today's children as tomorrow's adults is the shared responsibility of all humanity."
