Internships

Throughout their education period, our students are required to complete two compulsory internships in the fields of microbiology and biochemistry.

Internship Application Process

As of 2024, all internship application procedures are conducted digitally through the OASIS Student Information System. Detailed information regarding the process is available in the guideline published on the Career Guidance Center website, which operates under the Dean of Students Office of İzmir University of Economics.

The process begins when the student has the Internship Acceptance Form digitally approved by the institution or organization where the internship will be conducted, followed by approval from one of the members of the Applied Education Commission. After the internship placement is approved, the student is required to upload the necessary documents for insurance and internship commencement procedures to the internship application section in OASIS. These procedures must be completed at least two weeks prior to the internship start date. Late submissions of internship applications and documents will not be accepted.

Procedures Upon Completion of Internship

At the end of the internship, the Trainee Evaluation Form and attendance list must be submitted to the internship commission in a sealed envelope bearing the stamp and signature of the host institution. Forms submitted without an envelope, signature, or stamp will not be accepted.

Students are also required to submit the Internship Place Evaluation Form, duly signed, to the internship commission.

Internship reports must be uploaded to the “Medical Laboratory Techniques Internship” course on Blackboard by the specified deadline. A sample internship report format is provided via the link below.

Internship Examination

The internship examination is conducted in accordance with the announcements published in the Blackboard system under the internship unit.
