A Medical Laboratory Technician is a healthcare professional who performs laboratory tests requested by physicians accurately and reliably to support the diagnosis of diseases, treatment planning, and patient care. As indispensable members of the healthcare team, Medical Laboratory Technicians play a vital role in clinical decision-making.

To educate competent and well-qualified Medical Laboratory Technicians, the program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills. The curriculum includes courses in Medical Microbiology, Biochemistry, Hematology, Laboratory Chemistry, Laboratory Instrumentation, Parasitology, and other fundamental areas of laboratory sciences.

Graduates of the program are employed in both public and private healthcare institutions, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, private diagnostic laboratories, public health laboratories, dispensaries, primary healthcare centers, community health centers, family health centers, and in vitro fertilization (IVF) centers.

In addition, graduates may work as technicians in the research and development units of pharmaceutical and food industry companies, as well as in research laboratories at universities. They are also employed in the medical device industry. Healthcare institutions operating in the field of health tourism likewise represent important employment opportunities for graduates of the Vocational School of Health Services.

Although the language of instruction is Turkish, students may choose to complete an English preparatory program. This enables graduates to pursue career opportunities in healthcare institutions that provide services to international patients.

Graduates who demonstrate outstanding professional performance in clinical laboratories may be promoted to positions such as Laboratory Supervisor or Senior Laboratory Technician. Those employed in the medical device industry may advance from application and sales specialist positions to product management and sales management roles.

In accordance with the relevant regulations, graduates of the program may continue their education in four-year bachelor's degree programs in Biology, Bioengineering, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services, and Molecular Biology and Genetics, provided that they successfully pass the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

Admission to the program is based on applicants' TYT (Basic Proficiency Test) scores.

The program offers dedicated laboratory facilities with a capacity of 30 students, designed to provide each student with sufficient workspace and equipment to perform laboratory procedures individually. These laboratories are intended to help first-year students become familiar with laboratory practices and professional working environments. Beginning in the second year, students continue their education through hospital-based internships and clinical training, enabling them to develop the competencies required of qualified Medical Laboratory Technicians.

The program admits 24 students each year, ensuring individualized instruction and close supervision during laboratory courses. Teaching is delivered using student-centered instructional methods that encourage active participation throughout the learning process.
