Internships

Students are required to complete a total of 40 working days of internship during their period of study in nursing homes and/or elderly care facilities.

Internship Application Process

As of 2024, in accordance with the newly implemented system, all internship application procedures are carried out digitally via the OASIS Student Information System. All relevant information, including the application guide, can be accessed through the Career Guidance Center website, which operates under the İzmir University of Economics Student Dean’s Office.

The process begins with the student having the Internship Acceptance Form digitally approved by the institution or organisation where the internship will be conducted, followed by obtaining approval from one of the members of the Applied Education Commission. Once the internship is approved, the student must upload the required documents for insurance and internship commencement procedures to the internship application page in OASIS. These procedures must be completed at least two weeks prior to the internship start date. Late submissions of internship applications and documents will not be accepted.

Procedures at the End of the Internship

At the completion of the internship, the Intern Evaluation Form and attendance sheet must be submitted to the internship commission in a sealed envelope bearing the stamp and signature of the host institution. Forms submitted without a sealed envelope, stamp, or signature will not be evaluated.

Students must also submit the Internship Site Evaluation Form, duly signed, to the internship commission.
