Course Objectives The course aims to develop students' abilities to intervene with an ethical and accountable approach in various scenarios they may encounter in emergency health services and to manage critical processes such as triage. Additionally, it targets to ensure that they possess the necessary knowledge and skills in effective communication during disaster and hazardous material incidents, fire safety, and rescue operations.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Will be able to explain the roles of pre-hospital health services,
  • Will be able to describe a disaster incident,
  • Will be able to understand their roles and responsibilities in incident scene management,
  • Will be able to provide emergency health services in mass casualty incidents,
  • Will be able to deliver health services within the framework of ethical values in their professional life.
Course Description This course provides students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills by focusing on the fundamental principles of pre-hospital emergency health services and interventions during disaster situations. Throughout the term, topics such as ethical standards, triage procedures, the use of personal protective equipment, disaster management, and incident scene management are covered.
