Internships

Students enrolled in the Opticianry Program are required to complete two separate mandatory internships in the optical sector during their period of study. Through these internships, students have the opportunity to strengthen their professional knowledge, gain sectoral experience, and make a strong start to their careers.

Internship Application Process

All compulsory and voluntary internship applications must be submitted through the Internship Management System (IMS). 
Comprehensive information regarding the internship process can be found on the website of the Career Guidance Center, which operates under the Office of the Dean of Students at Izmir University of Economics. 

All procedures described in the Application Guide must be completed at least two weeks prior to the internship start date. Internship applications and supporting documents submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Internship Application Steps

• The student obtains approval for the Internship Acceptance Form from the institution or company where the internship will be conducted via digital platforms.
• Subsequently, the student receives digital approval from one of the members of the Applied Education Commission.
• The student whose internship is approved uploads the required documents for insurance procedures into the internship application system in OASIS.
• All procedures must be completed at least two weeks prior to the internship start date. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Procedures at the End of the Internship

• The Trainee Evaluation Form and attendance sheet must be submitted to the commission in a sealed envelope, stamped and signed by the internship institution. (Forms that are not in a sealed envelope or are missing signatures will not be accepted for evaluation.)
• The Internship Place Evaluation Form must also be submitted to the commission with a signature.
• Internship reports must be uploaded digitally via Blackboard, within the “Opticianry Program Internship” course, by the specified deadline.
• A sample report format and writing guidelines will be shared on Blackboard.
