Course Objectives The aim of this course is comprehension and application by students the principles, methods and practices in the care of healthy or sick elderly individuals.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Define the delivery of health services in Turkey.
  • List gastro-intestinal system, urinary system and respiratory system problems and apply care.
  • Apply for dermatological problems.
  • Identify sleep and sleep related problems and apply care.
  • Apply care before, during and after the surgery.
  • Will be able to care for the elderly bedridden and the patient whose death is approaching.
Course Description It is a course in which the basic concepts of elderly care are explained and how to meet the self-care needs of the elderly individual. In addition, it enables the student to determine the physiological needs of the elderly.
