Course Objectives The aim of this course is to learn; the concept and meaning of supply chain, the process and components of supply chain, structural development in the supply chain, participants taking part in the supply chain, purchasing and procurement methods, strategies for purchasing and analyze portfolio and process of purchasing in the supply chain.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Describe concept of the supply chain and purchasing
  • Describe process of purchasing in the supply chain
  • Develop strategies for purchasing
  • Analyze portfolio
  • Use basic information and communication technologies as required by the profession
  • Define issues related to basic professional ethics in supplier and management of purchasing and find ethic solutions
  • Follow legal developments related to their field
Course Description Purchasing and supply management primarily within the course, concepts related to areas such as supply chain concept will be defined. Respectively; acquisition strategy and portfolio analysis, purchasing supply chain management processes, basic elements of the purchase contract, the interpretation of the problems and contract management agreements, supplier performance evaluation, establishment of supplier performance management system, supplier performance indicators, supplier relationship management, supplier relations and supplier development.
